The Fulbright Program is an American scholarship program of competitive, merit-based grants for international educational exchange for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists. It was established to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills. It is considered to be one of the most widely recognized and prestigious scholarships in the world.
In an interview with Pasadena Now news, Lee said: “I feel overjoyed and really excited about receiving the Fulbright […] Right now I’m talking with my faculty host Dr. Munazza Yaqoob about all the details that have to go into place, and I’m pulling together all my documents, pamphlets and information about the women’s liberation movement in the United States to take with me”.
