Why are you a GMMP coordinator? What motivated you to lead the GMMP?

I believe in the role of media in shaping the future of women’s engagement and enhancing the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in any country. I participate to strengthen the gender perspective in the media and communication arena in Slovakia and the region entirely and to emphasize the important role of media to ensure equality, equity, and stability as well as good governance in the country and elsewhere.

How are you using the GMMP methodology, tools and findings? How have any of these dimensions of the GMMP shaped the work of your organization, institution or network?

I have applied some of the GMMP tools to assess the media influence in Slovakia. I also shared the tools with some of my staff members of other NGOs in the Central Eastern Europe region and the Middle East and North Africa region as well.

What positive change has the GMMP driven in your context? What contribution has it made to the process towards gender equality in or through the media?

The GMMP has further strengthened and structured analysis of the media contribution to the development process.

As we mark the GMMP’s 30th anniversary now in 2025, why do you believe that it is crucial for the GMMP to continue?

Yes, the GMMP should continue, and it should be ensured that the best practices are shared.
