Why are you a GMMP coordinator? What motivated you to lead the GMMP?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I completed my doctoral thesis in 1999, I have been using the GMMP reports for my research and for the classes I teach. In 2010 and 2015, I participated as a monitor within the Spanish team, and in 2020 I took over as national coordinator from Professor Nuria Simelio of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you using the GMMP methodology, tools and findings? How have any of these dimensions of the GMMP shaped the work of your organization, institution or network?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have used and continue to use the GMMP methodology for the research I carry out as I work on feminist journalism at the University of M\u00e1laga<\/a>, and I also use it in teaching to adapt the training activity to the profiles of our students, who are mostly women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What positive change has the GMMP driven in your context? What contribution has it made to the process towards gender equality in or through the media?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has allowed us to establish collaborative relationships between the university and professionals, as well as with trade unions and other feminist social groups. It has also allowed us to maintain intergenerational collaboration and a dialogue with the media, especially the public media, which have been interested in the results obtained and in improving the percentages of representation in each edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we mark the GMMP\u2019s 30th anniversary now in 2025<\/strong>, <\/strong>why do you believe that it is crucial for the GMMP to continue?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because it is important to have systematized data and complete series, because we need rigorous tools for quantification, comparison between states and political action, because we need to involve professionals in improving the quality of information, because we have to hand over to the generation of students and professionals who will continue the work that was started 30 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es usted el\/la coordinador\/a del GMMP? \u00bfQu\u00e9 le motiv\u00f3 a dirigir el GMMP?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde que realic\u00e9 mi Tesis doctoral en 1999 vengo utilizando los informes del GMMP para mis investigaciones y para las clases que imparto, en 2010 y 2015 particip\u00e9 como monitora dentro del equipo espa\u00f1ol, en 2020 hice el relevo de la profesora Nuria Simelio de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfC\u00f3mo utiliza (o ha aplicado) la metodolog\u00eda, las herramientas y\/o los resultados del GMMP? \u00bfC\u00f3mo ha influido alguna de estas dimensiones del GMMP en el trabajo de su organizaci\u00f3n, instituci\u00f3n o red?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He utilizado y sigo utilizando la metodolog\u00eda GMMP para las investigaciones que realizo pues trabajo sobre periodismo feminista en la Universidad de M\u00e1laga<\/a>, tambi\u00e9n la empleo en la actividad docente para adecuar la actividad formativa a los perfiles de nuestras estudiantes que son, mayoritariamente, mujeres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 cambios positivos ha producido el GMMP en su contexto? \u00bfQu\u00e9 contribuci\u00f3n ha hecho al proceso de promoci\u00f3n de la igualdad entre mujeres y hombres en los medios o a trav\u00e9s de ellos?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nos ha permitido establecer relaciones de colaboraci\u00f3n entre la universidad y las profesionales, tambi\u00e9n con las organizaciones sindicales y con otros colectivos sociales feministas. Nos ha permitido mantener una colaboraci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n intergeneracional y un di\u00e1logo con los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n, especialmente los p\u00fablicos, que se han interesado por los resultados obtenidos y por ir mejorando los porcentajes de representaci\u00f3n en cada edici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De cara al 30\u00ba aniversario del GMMP en 2025, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 cree que es esencial que contin\u00fae?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porque es importante contar con datos sistematizados y con series completas, porque nos hacen falta herramientas rigurosas para la cuantificaci\u00f3n, la comparaci\u00f3n entre estados y la acci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, porque necesitamos implicar a las y los profesionales en la mejora de la calidad informativa, porque tenemos que dar el relevo a la generaci\u00f3n de estudiantes y profesionales que van a continuar la labor que se emprendi\u00f3 hace 30 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
