Why are you a GMMP coordinator? What motivated you to lead the GMMP?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the start of my professional career, fighting sexism and stereotypes in news media content has been my leitmotiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, because the low representation of women in the media is a sad reality in Burkina Faso, and secondly, because I am an ambassador for gender-sensitive management and above all a player in the promotion of gender in Burkina Faso and abroad. I was also appointed by FAMEDEV<\/a> to serve as national coordinator because of my commitment to gender and human rights issues in the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you using the GMMP methodology, tools and findings? How have any of these dimensions of the GMMP shaped the work of your organization, institution or network?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since my arrival as GMMP coordinator, every opportunity for contact with Burkinabe media promoters has been an opportunity to advocate for greater representation of women in the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact of the GMMP in Burkina Faso also includes our awareness-raising and capacity-building sessions for media men and women on the dangers of sexist content that, there is no doubt, undermines efforts to improve the image of women in and through the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe that the results of the GMMP could provide a database for structures working to combat sexist discrimination. These results could contribute to a change of behavior within the media and raise the awareness of media managers on issues of gender equality in the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our network therefore suggests more communication activities in the field with the GMMP and its operational partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
