UNESCO and partners launch video for gender equality in and through media

"In the spirit of promoting gender equality in the Media, UNESCO and partners have launched a video calling for action on gender equality and women’s empowerment in and through media in the form of a Global Alliance on Media and Gender (GAMG).

Advancing gender equality in media

In my opinion, the most effective strategy to achieve gender-sensitive media is:

Increased gender-awareness training of media professionals
Greater action by audiences to hold their media accountable
Stricter enforcement of gender-focussed media codes and policies
More female journalists, editors and media house managers
